Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai, Kota Kinabalu

I was pleasantly surprised by the Royal Villa upgrade at Nexus Karambunai! The accommodations were clean and comfortable, definitely a highlight of my stay. Although the dining experience could have used a bit more variety, especially during breakfast, the overall value for the amenities and serene location by the beach was fantastic. It's a peaceful getaway, but just keep in mind some areas felt a bit dated.

The hotel offers stunning views over the China Sea and beautiful surrounding grounds, which is a definite highlight for anyone looking to relax. Unfortunately, while the rooms are nice at first glance, they didn't quite meet the expectations of a four-star hotel, primarily due to a lack of maintenance responsiveness. The dining options could use some improvement, especially in terms of variety and cleanliness, which detracted from the overall experience.

I recently stayed at this spa hotel and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The service was outstanding-everyone was helpful and the staff went above and beyond, even singing a goodbye song at check-out! The location was truly a beautiful escape, perfect for unwinding. However, the dining options could be a bit more diverse and the breakfast area felt quite crowded at times. Despite these small drawbacks, I felt it was good value for money.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The views from the fifth floor, overlooking the South China Sea, were simply amazing, especially at sunset. However, some aspects like the room cleanliness left something to be desired, particularly with the presence of small ants.
